Theresa Dedmon's Create Academy

Theresa takes us through some deep heart issues, and I have to wonder at the composure of the students being recorded. During the time of painting a painful memory, I knew God was looking after it but I was releasing some pent up tears. I did not see any one else showing emotion! I'm sure it was there though. The testimonies were amazing.! This is a course I would like to review and even encourage friends to take.

Create to be Free was very helpful in getting me started in reviewing the past in more detail in order to receive the Father’s love and become more fully alive to who I am as His beloved. I have reviewed most of these areas previously and found a measure of freedom. However participating in Create to be Free has enabled me to feel a greater depth of release and of being aware of my true identity through the necessity to depict so many things on paper. I was glad to be doing the course on video because I needed to review small sections as I went along to keep the focus on what you wanted us to do. Geoff and I shared our respective drawings after each session and it did help us understand more about one another and ourselves, after 30 years of marriage! God showed me He has been healing me and encouraged me to go further which I will do with a counsellor. Theresa your videoed comments were great background and perspective and very helpful. Session 6 was my favourite, a launching place for vision for the free me! By the way I found coloured pencils was quite sufficient for the task. Live music was a good idea, more personal, gives people space.

God brought up the pain of the death of my father as a child. It had an effect on our family ever since. He showed me He wanted to restore that loss in our family. When I painted the word "family" I felt freedom. That night I also had a dream restoring a certain area of that loss. During the next few months as I met family I could feel a closeness that wasn't there before. My wife could feel the difference also.

I thoroughly enjoyed Create to be Free. I liked the structure, the teachings, testimonies, encounters and painting towards healing. I also loved the inspired music during the ‘create to be free’ times. I experienced breakthrough in session 2 in forgiveness and session 6 in taking time to list and awaken dreams. I can highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to pay attention to their emotional health!

Through the “Create to be Free” course, I was able to have a powerful encounter with God! Thank you so much Theresa! You are a precious gift to us!
